Dr. Behn Banihashemi<br />

Dr. Behn Banihashemi

MD FRCPC FACC

Dr. Behn Banihashemi, MD FRCPC FACC, is an experienced and compassionate cardiologist. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine in 2007, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto in 2010, and finished fellowships in Cardiology and Echocardiography at the Ottawa Heart Institute in 2014.

Dr. Banihashemi is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Canada, and by the American College of Cardiology. He has specialized training in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, holding both Canadian and US board certification in these areas. With a long-held interest in the science of aging, age management medicine, and holistic preventive medicine, Dr. Banihashemi brings a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to healthcare. His extensive education and diverse clinical experience enable him to provide high-quality, personalized care to his patients.

Andrew Holmes is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and a renowned sleep specialist bringing 20 years of expertise in sleep diagnostics and
therapeutic solutions. His extensive professional background includes senior leadership roles within hospital and healthcare settings. Andrew led the team responsible for a full service cardiopulmonary and sleep services department at one of the biggest hospitals in the nation’s capital, Ottawa. As one of the most sought-after sleep experts, he is a consultant to numerous professional sports organizations such as the National Hockey League (NHL) including the Ottawa Senators Hockey organization. Andrew has also appeared on numerous media networks including CBC’S The National News as a sleep subject matter expert. In 2015 Holmes founded Sleep Efficiency Inc., which is the premier provider of home-based sleep testing services in Canada. With a distinguished record of conducting thousands of sleep tests in the comfort of individuals homes every year, Sleep Efficiency Inc. is at the forefront of promoting optimal sleep health.

Mona Al-Gashm

Mona Al-Gashm

MSN, NP

Mona Al-Gashm MSN, NP is a dedicated healthcare professional with a strong background in nursing and primary care. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, graduating in 2014. During her seven years as a medical and surgical nurse at the QEII – Victoria General Hospital, Mona gained extensive experience in acute care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Pursuing her passion for advanced practice nursing, Mona obtained her Master of Nursing degree from Dalhousie University in 2021. She then relocated to Ottawa in 2022 to begin her career as a Nurse Practitioner. With three years of primary care experience, Mona has provided comprehensive care to clients across the lifespan, advocating for marginalized and vulnerable populations within the community.

As a key member of the Ottawa Cardiac Longevity Clinic team, Mona is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Her role involves conducting thorough histories and physical examinations, arranging necessary investigations, coordinating care, and providing counseling to promote wellness and disease prevention. Mona’s approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, patient-centered care, and interdisciplinary teamwork to optimize health outcomes. She is passionate about enhancing patient experiences and ensuring her clients receive the best possible care.

Since making Ottawa her home, Mona has embraced the city’s vibrant outdoor activities, diverse food scene, and welcoming atmosphere. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys hiking, traveling, exploring new cuisines, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Debora Sloan<br />



Debora Sloan RD, CSSD, CPT is a Registered Dietitian, certified Sport Nutritionist, and certified Personal Trainer with a passion for helping clients lead healthy, balanced lives. After completing her BAH at Queen’s University and working in art galleries and marketing, Debora returned to school as a mature student, graduating with a BSc in clinical nutrition and dietetics from Western University. She received her clinical training at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto in 2012 before establishing her private practice, Debora Sloan Healthy Solutions, in Ottawa in 2013.

With expertise in various areas of clinical nutrition, including diabetes, heart health, metabolic disorders, weight management, body composition, sport nutrition, celiac disease, aging, and women’s health, Debora brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. As an athlete and mom living with Type 1 Diabetes since the age of 12 and a more recent diagnosis of celiac disease, she understands the challenges of balancing a busy life with healthy living and proper nutrition.

Debora’s personal experiences have shaped her approach to nutrition and fitness. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, lifting weights, reading about exercise science, and believes in nourishing and fueling the body with delicious food. By practicing what she preaches, Debora aims to motivate her clients to lead their best lives through sustainable habits that make a difference.

Working with clients of all ages and stages, Debora develops practical and individualized nutrition and fitness solutions. She listens to her clients and upholds an evidence-based, food-first, and client-centered approach to help them achieve their goals.


